To help us better understand why you want to volunteer with VE Global and to properly select a strong team of volunteers, we ask that you carefully read these instructions prior to submitting your application for consideration.

A complete VE Global application consists of 2 parts:
- Online Web Application
- Supporting Documentation, including:
- CV or Resume
- One Letter of Recommendation (Signed and scanned)

- References (3 academic or professional)
Please complete the first step of your application by submitting your online web application through our website. We recommend submitting the online application only after you have prepared and compiled all of the supporting documentation listed above. Once you submit the online web application, our team will contact you with instructions on where to submit your supporting documentation.
Our volunteer selection team will review completed applications. Applicants recommended by our selection team will interview with a VE Global staff member via Skype or telephone. After the interview, VE Global will make a final decision on the candidate, typically within 2 weeks.
Please review the following basic requirements to ensure that you are eligible to participate in our volunteer program:
- Age of 18 years or older
- Ability to speak Spanish at an intermediate level or above. [Qualified applicants with beginner or no Spanish must demonstrate completion of a formal Spanish course (minimum 30 hours) prior to arrival in addition to one formal Spanish class in Santiago upon arrival.]
- Minimum stay of 4 months (stay of 8 months strongly recommended)
- Full-time commitment in a VE Global partner institution
- Involvement in VE Continuing Education, Program Events and General Meetings
- Arrival and participation in January, May or September VE Orientation Training (10 days)
- Participation in one mid-service weekend retreat (Jornada)
- Welcoming in the next class of volunteers
- Criminal background check (upon acceptance)
