We took a quick poll among our current volunteers recently and found that many of us are at VE Global because we knew a past volunteer. Jamie talked to Mariana through a connection at her dentist and arrived in September. After Lynn spent six months with VE, her good friend Jen came two months later.
The stories continue and that got us thinking…
How many of our readers, like you, may know someone who has always wanted to live and volunteer abroad, help children and have the experience of a lifetime? Maybe all that friend needs is to hear what it’s really like here.
We want to get you, or your friend who has always wanted to make that trip, chatting with one of our volunteers. It’s super simple –email us and we’ll introduce you to a volunteer. Our volunteers have great stories – some good, some challenging – but all interesting experiences to hear about. Volunteers are the core to helping the children we serve every day. If connecting two people is all it takes to get more volunteers in our institutions, let’s do it!
VE Values: On the Inside, We’re Still the Same
I’m excited to share with you all that we have just finalized a new-and-improved Values Statement. As I reflect back on my first year inside VE Global, I can tell you that we live our values as members of this organization every day. To celebrate my first year with VE and our exciting new values statement, for the next 20 days I’ll be sharing why I’m so proud to be a part of VE as we come upon my one year anniversary. Domingo Savio Needs Your Help
Domingo Savio, one of our partner institutions, was the recent victim of a massive robbery. This community center focuses on programs that develop the abilities of kids at social risk while they continue living with their families whenever possible. With the list of stolen items valuing approximately $USD 10,000, we want to help. If you make a donation through our website today, Thursday, May 19th through Monday, May 23rd at midnight, VE Global will donate all proceeds directly to Domingo Savio.
