January 2012: A New Year, a new mission
Happy 2012! Let´s start the year off with a bang by giving you some big VE community updates! First, we have a new mission and vision! We have been working hard to refine what we consider our goals and objectives as an organization.
Let us know what you think on Facebook!
All of us in Santiago want to thank everyone--from the volunteers to the board, for their commitment and dedication to our new guiding documents!
On the Honor Roll
Volunteers are the core of VE Global. I think it’s safe to say that we love telling our volunteers how much we appreciate their work. So, what better way to do it than by letting our friends and family in on the fun too? Check out Janurary's honored volunteers!

A Summer of Discovery
¡Vamos a Leer! opens up new worlds for kids by having them find the fun in reading. The books the children read this summer will feed their imagination, by exploring new places, events and ideas. When the children who participate choose to read a story over watching TV, all of us here give a little cheer.
One book that is always popular is the tale of Ali Baba.
It’s probably the mystery and intrigue of hidden treasure, flying carpets and true love. But the truth is, finding the right book can be tricky. This year we've had some help thanks to the grant we were awarded by the Chilean government!
We'd like to point out though, reading isn't just for kids, especially with our new volunteers arriving on January 9th. To gain insight into Chilean culture read our pick of the country’s top authors: Pablo Neruda, Gabriela Mistral, Isabel Allende, Luis Sepúlveda and Roberto Bolaño.
Have fun reading, we are!
Un Abrazo,
Josh Pilz
